Shakespeare Festival
Kyleigh had the privilege this month, along with other 6th grade students from Longview, to perform at the world renown Utah Shakespearean Festival in Cedar City. What an honor this was as only six other schools from the whole region were invited to perform in the Elementary Showcase. They performed vignettes from some of Shakespeare's most famous plays...Hamlet, Macbeth, The Taming of the Shrew, and A Midsummer Night's Dream at the outdoor Adam's Theatre, which is a replica of the Globe Theatre in London. I was able to be involved as well as part of the artistic staff and it was so rewarding to see the weeks of summer rehearsal pay off as these kids experienced an opportunity of a lifetime. Kyleigh played the part of William Shakespeare and did an outstanding job. Huzzah! Huzzah! Huzzah!

American Idol Concert
The American Idol tour coming to Utah brought, once again, Idol mania to my life. LOL From the fan gathering at the E Center and Murray Park, to the pre-concert dinner, the concert itself and getting back stage passes for the after party. Whoot! One of the funnest days of my life for sure! I posted this concert video of David singing "Stand By Me" to always remind me why my voice was wacked out for about a week after the concert. I screamed my heart out (or voice rather...LOL) for that kid!!! The Utah crowd was amazing in welcoming David back home...they went absolutely CCRRAAZZYY for him. He was clearly overwhelmed by it all as he became emotional during his final song and had to wipe his tears. He was feel'in the LOVE! What an amazing, talented kid!

I got the best phone call this week from my friend

Katrina in Arizona. She attended the American Idol

concert Tuesday night in Glendale, the first concert

of the 2008 American Idol tour. AHHHHH! If that

isn't exciting enough....it gets better! She and her

family are huge Brooke White fans and because

she is a close friend of Brooke's family she got back stage

passes AHHHHH! to see the Idols after the concert.

She not only talked with David Archuleta, but told him

about ME and how I am such a diehard fan of his. Katrina

said he seemed really touched with her account of all the

things I tried to do during the Idol season to get people

to vote for him. Anyway, he gave her a personalized

autograph to give to me. AHHHH!

(had a tad bit of a freak out over the phone... sorry Katrina LOL)

After hearing the awesome concert reports, watching him sing his

four concert songs via fanblast and justintv... AND hearing about

Katrina and Jeff's experience, I was ready for a fangirly breakdown***sob***
